The purpose of the Technical Policy Support (TPS) Working Group is to provide technical, policy, ethical, social recommendations related to emerging technologies and advancements that are in an IEEE designated field . The recommendations shall be made to R10 Executive Committee (EXCOM). Main goals of the TPS Working Group are:
▶Identify key focus areas where IEEE Region 10 can make a positive contribution in supporting the development of technical, public, and ethical policies.
▶Provide a platform to promote discussion of technology-related public policies across R10.
▶Make recommendations on the key policy issues relevant to IEEE’s vision to R10 EXCOM.
▶Support and plan technical forums on the identified focus areas at the Section/Council/Region level.
▶Collaborate with relevant R10 committees and working groups.
▶Explore opportunities to make contributions to the IEEE Technology Policy and Ethics bi-monthly digital publication.
