IEEE R10 Professional Activities Committee Facilitates Major Milestone in Collaboration with National Professional Communities

Bali, Indonesia-Friday,14 March 2025- the IEEE R10 Professional Activities Committee (PAC)  in collaboration with IEEE Indonesia Section and with support by IEEE R10 National Societies Agreement AdHoc Committee, successfully facilitated a major milestone in fostering collaboration between IEEE and National professional communities. This was marked by the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between IEEE Indonesia Section and four key reputable professional organizations in Indonesia: ISAS (Indonesian Society of Applied Science), BKE-PII (The Indonesian Engineers Association – Electrical Engineering Focus), FORTEI (Forum Pendidikan Tinggi Teknik Elektro Indonesia), and APTIKOM (Association of Informatics and Computer Institutions in Indonesia).  

During the event, 2025 IEEE President & CEO, Professor Kathleen Kramer delivered an insightful presentation on IEEE’s mission and goal. And each professional community delivered introductions about their organizations, outlining specific areas for collaboration. The MoU signing ceremony was conducted by the IEEE Indonesia Section Chair alongside representatives from the four communities. The event was witnessed by 2025 IEEE President & CEO, 2025-2026 IEEE R10 Director, IEEE R10 past Director, and the IEEE R10 Professional Activities Chair.

These agreements solidify IEEE’s commitment to supporting the expansion of IEEE technical collaboration, supporting professional development, and fostering innovation through joint initiatives in education, research, and industry engagement. The planned collaborative efforts include co-hosting technical activity and conducting capacity-building programs for professional engineers and educators.

As an official host and media partner, TVRI Bali played a pivotal role in facilitating discussions and amplifying the impact of this initiative. IEEE R10 PAC will continue to facilitate, monitor, and follow up on these collaborations to encourage effective implementation. Future actions include providing regular updates and reports on joint initiatives, and encouraging further involvement from IEEE members and professional communities to strengthen engagement. This initiative marks a significant step toward fostering deeper industry-academic partnerships, advancing IEEE’s role in the professional ecosystem, and creating sustainable opportunities for technical innovation in Region 10. The IEEE R10 Professional Activities Committee (PAC) extends its gratitude to the R10 Director and Vice Chair of Professional Activities for their invaluable support, from the preparation of the MoU draft to its final approval.
