And the panelists from Government and researcher Representatives included Dr. Hla Nu Phyu (A*STAR Singapore), who shared insights on translating research into industrial applications in the ASEAN region and Dr. Denny Setiawan (Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital), who spoke on government strategies for digital infrastructure and technological growth.
Q&A Session with Reactors
The discussion concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where three contributors from the IEEE R10 Professional Activities Committee members posed critical questions raised by Hidenobu Harasaki (IEEE Japan Section), Aryo de Wibowo (IEEE Indonesia Section), and Pooja Sharma (IEEE Madras Section). This roundtable discussion was smoothly led by Dr. Allya Paramita Koesuma and Prof. Wayan Eddy as moderators.
Conclusion & Next Steps
The Roundtable Discussion successfully strengthened dialogue between industry, academia, professional society and policymakers, reinforcing IEEE’s role in regional professional development. Moving forward, IEEE R10 PAC will focus on: 1) Improving awareness, communication and access to IEEE services by organizing follow-up sessions at IEEE R10 flagship conferences and other means of communication beyond academic sectors (Tensymp, TENCON, IEEE HTC 2025) to continue discussions on sustainable partnerships; 2) Expanding industry-focused engagement programs for professionals, including certification initiatives as well as initiatives focusing on frontier topics and industry relevant initiatives across IEEE. This session represents a significant milestone in efforts to equip IEEE’s middle-senior members with strategic insights for building long-term, impactful collaborations across Region 10.
